Battery Charging Light on a Laptop Blinks 3 Times Continuously

Hi Rashmiranjan1 -

I'm Kevin B. Windows user like you. I do apologize for the inconvenience, let me help you sort things out.

Do you have any power settings set on your computer? Like Sleep or Hibernate when Idled?

Kindly try to press and hold the power button for at least 5 seconds to shutdown the computer and try to power it up again.

Usually if the computer power is blinking, it usually indicates that there is a power settings set on the computer, either sleep or hibernate or anything.

Also, is there any recent changes made on the computer before the issue started?

I await your response

Thanks,
Kevin B.

Hi Rashmiranjan1 -

Thanks for the response and I do apologize if the method did not fix the issue

I've run out of ideas however since this is a user-to-user forum, let's ask our colleagues if they have insights on this.

Regards,
Kevin B.

Hi, I'm Greg, 10 years awarded Windows MVP, specializing in Installation, Performance, Troubleshooting and Activation, here to help you.

One other thing to try before taking it to a shop:

Remove battery and charger. Press and hold the power button down for 30 seconds to release residual power from circuits.

Plug back in charger to try to start up. What happens?

In case the charger is broken, plug in battery to try that.

It's possible it's a bad charger with battery depleted. I'd ask the shop to plug in the universal charger to see if that works. If not they'll need to test hardware to find the fault. We are unable to help you test the hardware involved here which is motherboard, battery, charger, GPU, PSU, etc.

I hope this helps. Feel free to ask back any questions. Please report back results for all steps given so I know what else to suggest if necessary.

Hello.

I tested my charger is fine.

As i removed the case, i found my battery in pumped up state. I think this might be the reason.

I pressed and hold for sometime but nothing happens.

Can you confirm me one thing. The charging indicator at the side indicating the charger is connected will glow even without battery? Or not?

Those indicator lights are different for all makes and models of laptops and chargers. You would need to search the question with your laptop or charger make/model, or ask the laptop Support.

Keep in mind you also have a one year manufacturer's support, repair and replacement warranty that comes with the PC so if problems persist you can call on them to fix or replace it, making sure it gets done soon enough so you can ensure the repairs work in time for the warranty expiration, or extend it. It might also still be under Store return policy.
